Private Sector Pitches in for Police

Our city does a great job providing for our citizens with the available budget.  We recognize, however, that sometimes the private sector needs to pitch in.  The DDJP, in an effort to keep our city safe, contributes to extra police patrolling.

We would like to continue our efforts again in 2014.  Our goal is to seek 30 businesses or individuals willing to contribute $300 to our police fund.  It's well worth the investment!

 Community Gardens

Each spring we gather with our volunteers to plant our Community
Gardens.  Located throughout Johnstown these gardens are open to the public.  That's right.  You can pluck from our variety of vegetables and take them home!  Any that is not used is donated to the Family Kitchen.  It not only adds beauty but provides healthy food for our residents.  Thanks to our partners in this endeavor, Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and Alternative Community Resource Program.
